Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012

The Supreme Court has required the Office of the Solicitor General to comment on two new petitions challenging the constitutionality of Republic Act No. 10354 or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012.

No action has been taken by the SC on the respective requests for Temporary Restraining Orders.

The petitions were filed by Expedito Bugarin vs. Office of the President; and Eduardo Olaguer and the Catholic Xybrspace Apostolate of the Philippines vs. DOH Secretary et al.

There are now six petitions challenging RA 10354.

The other four petitions were filed by James Imbong, et al. vs. Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, et al.; Serve Life Cagayan de Oro City, et al. vs. Office of the President, et al.,; Task Force for Family and Life Visayas Inc. and Valeriano Avila vs. Ochoa, et al.; and Alliance for the Family Foundation Philippines Inc. vs. Ochoa.
