Agricultural lands in Quezon province

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will distribute to 952 farmer-beneficiaries next month this 1,937.91 hectares of agricultural lands in Quezon province.

This was learned from Undersecretary for Field Operations Jose Grageda during the multi-stakeholders dialogue on land rights and peace in Bondoc Peninsula held recently at the Queen Margaret Court in Barangay Domoit, Lucena City, Quezon.

Grageda said that 480 hectares of land from the Reyes property will be distributed to 267 farmers, while the rest are from the properties of the Matias and Uy families. The lands to be distributed are located in the municipality of Mulanay.

Mulanay is considered as one among the "agrarian hot spots" in the Bondoc Peninsula. Other towns include San Francisco, San Andres, San Narciso, and Buenavista where landowners control big landholdings.

Grageda also said that two (2) remaining titles of Reyes property are expected to be distributed by March or on the first quarter of the year.
