The Sandiganbayan has granted the motion for the cancellation of travel passports filed by the prosecution against the three accused in the plunder case involving the alleged misuse of P366-million confidential/intelligence fund of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
In a resolution, the Sandiganbayan ordered the Dept. of Foreign Affairs to cancel the respective travel passports of accused former PCSO general manager Rosario C. Uriarte, former PCSO board of directors members Jose Taruc V and Maria Fatima Abad Santos Valdes.
The resolution was signed by Sandiganbayan First Division Chairman Associate Justice Efren N. dela Cruz and Associate Justices Rafael Lagos and Rodolfo Ponferrada.
The Sandiganbayan also ordered the Interpol-National Capital Central Bureau to place the three accused in the so-called "Red Status Notice", which means they can be arrested in any country.
