Underground movement in Negros Occidental
The ongoing purge within the underground movement in Negros Occidental has resulted to the death of two more cadre members being suspected by the underground movement as deep-penetration agent (DPA) of the military.
This was revealed by the assistant commander of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division Col. Jonas Sumagasay who said that two suspected government DPAs identified only in their aliases as a certain Ka Rustom and Ka Kennedy have been executed by firing squad.
Sumagaysay said the duo were killed somewhere in the mountain areas of Sipalay City in southern Negros Occidental on Tuesday morning and their bodies were immediately buried in a mass grave in the area.
He said that based on the military intelligence information, since Ka Rubin took the helm of the New People's Army (NPA) hierarchy in Negros for a week's time, scores of rebels have been executed after they were tried by a "kangaroo court" on mere suspicions of being military spies in the underground movement.
The rebel group earlier created the so-called "Oplan Panghilamon" aims to weed out or rid the NPA rank of military DPAs.
