(Sunday, March 25, p.m.) - The United States of America welcomed 49 new citizens Friday morning. A naturalization ceremony hosted at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and presided over by U. S. District Judge Phil Gilbert saw new Americans from the Philippines, Greece, Columbia, India, Israel, Jordan, China, Mexico, England, Denmark, Ukraine, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Romania, Niger, Lebanon, Peru, Thailand and Japan.
