The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Regional Office 11-A will serve taxpayers in Panay and Boracay Islands until midnight of April 16 to make sure the last minute filers could file their income tax returns (ITRs).
BIR regional director Romulo Aguila said the filing of ITRs has been extended to April 16 since April 15 falls on Sunday.
Aguila said based on their monitoring, a lot of taxpayers had already trooped to the region's 33 filing centers to beat the deadline.
The BIR official urged the last minute filers on April 16 to be at the filing centers before 7 p.m. to avail of the extended hour of service.
Aguila said the 33 filing centers set up by the BIR Region 11-A do not include the offices of the local government units.
"For government employees, since they have substitute filing then they need not have to go to the BIR offices and filing centers," he said.
