Capitol employees will soon have to segregate their office trash.
This, after Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado announced that the provincial government will build their own material recovery facility (MRF) at the compound of the Bulacan Medical Center, which will be managed by the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office, in coordination with the General Services Office.
Alvarado recently issued Memorandum No. 52 directing all department heads, capitol employees and owners of establishments within the provincial capitol compound to segregate garbage, which will then be hauled to the proposed MRF at the BMC compound.
The governor also instructed department heads to delegate an "ecology officer" who will coordinate with BENRO for the systematic disposal of office trash.
Alvarado said that BENRO will train the designated "ecology officers" to inform employees on the proper ways to segregate and dispose office trash.
BENRO and GSO will also brief establishment owners within the capitol compound on the proper disposal of the waste and garbage.
BENRO chief Rustico de Belen said that trash bins had been put up within the premises of the capitol building where employees could dispose their garbage.
