The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) plans to bid out two to three priority projects under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) this year worth P65 billion.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson on Friday said the North Luzon xpressway-South Luzon Expressway (NLEX-SLEX) Connector Road worth P12-15 billion, the Circumferential Road 3 (C-3) Southern alignment and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Expressway project phase 2, each costing between P20 billion and P25 billion woulf be auction off.
Singson said the Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Link Road Project, which was awarded to Ayala Corp., was the first successful PPP priority project bid out by the national government last year.
He said the NAIA expressway phase 2 project would be reconfigured after discussing it with the PAGCOR Entertainment city locators, who offered to get involved by providing funds, to ensure that the PAGCOR Entertainment city would have a new access and not rely on EDSA.
"The NAIA expressway phase 2 will provide access and connectivity to NAIA terminals 1,2,3 and link the PAGCOR Entertainment city. From PAGCOR city via NAIA expressway you can reach Makati in 15-17 minutes, instead of traversing through EDSA," he said.
They are just awaiting for the final alignment plan, before they can start with the open competitive bidding.
The NLEX -SLEX connector and the C3 link projects, on the other hand, will have an unsolicited bidding. He said the Citra Group of San Miguel Holdings Corp. (SMHC) is now the proponent of the C3 link.
