The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)is constructing a P33 million farm-to-market road project that will connect barangays in agrarian reform communities (ARCs) in San Agustin, Isabela.
The road project is now under construction following formal groundbreaking led DAR Regional Director Marjorie Alzate and Isabela Congressman Georgidi Aggabao recently.
The project involves the concreting of 7.39 kilometers starting from barangay roads of San Antonio passing through Mapalad and Bautista.
Alzate explained the concreting of the road will ensure the uninterrupted flow of farm products from the ARC to the market as well as the flow of farm inputs from the commercial center to the farms. Other sectors are also set to benefit from the project.
Alzate noted that during the rainy season, the roads become muddy and full of potholes prompting public conveyances to charge higher than the usual fare.
